X-Files Poster

One of the coolest posters I've ever seen was the poster Mulder's I Want To Believe poster from the X-Files. I saw this posted somewhere else and wanted to customize it for the Kindle by adding my black border and kindle waking text at the bottom. Hope you enjoy.

Clone Wars Yoda

Here is my post for today, I'm very drained but my gather the energy to work on another one tonight. I've been a Star Wars fan since I saw the Star Wars on TV the first time as a kid. I'm too young to have seen them in theaters the first time around (wasn't even born). But I love Star Wars, I love the movies...even the crappy ones, I love the books, the comics, the crappy cartoons...everything about the Star Wars universe intrigues me. So here is the first of MANY Star Wars screensavers for the Kindle 2. One of the more popular characters to start out with Yoda. Hope you enjoy the screen image.

Got Fight?

Forrest Griffin is one of the funniest MMA fighters to step into the Octagon. I haven't read his book Got Fight? yet but I do plan on reading it very soon. I just finished Twilight (didn't like it) and will probably read Arthas next but this book is in my next 3 for sure. I actually may read this one and Arthas at the same time. But anyway on to the story of this image. I've been trying to make the images look more professional thats why you'll see the text at the bottom about waking the Kindle, also the black borders. I wanted a high resolution image to use this time and I found the cover for Got Fight? and decided to give it a try and as you can see it looks pretty good on the Kindle 2.Also attaching two images to this one.

More World of Warcraft

Being a huge World of Warcraft fan and probably starting Arthas as my next book I wanted to create another WoW screensaver image. This one is for Horde fans and their will be an Alliance one posted later. I'm attaching two pics this time, one image taken from my phone so you can see the screen on my Kindle then of course I'm adding the actual image.

Drizzt - The Dark Elf

Drizzt Do'Urden is my favorite fantasy character. Such a powerful warrior and awesome background. No Kindle would be complete without the Dark Elf Trilogy books, here is a screen saver image to honor Drizzt.

Minesweeper on the Kindle

Just found out that you can play Minesweeper on your Kindle, I just tested this out with a US version of the Kindle 2 and it works. I'm not really interested in playing it but maybe on a long boring flight.
To try this out on your Kindle, go to the Home page and press Alt+Shift+M

Fight Club

Haven't had much time to work on any more images but wanted to add a quick one for one of my favorite movies. Fight Club, such a great movie and an even better book. I hope everyone enjoys this quick one.

How to use custom screensaver images on your Kindle 2

I just realized that not everyone knows how to install these custom images on their Kindle. So I thought it would only be fair to offer some help here. Grab the Kindle 2 hack file here. (NOTE: you'll need Winrar or 7zip to extract these files.) Copy the hacked update file to your Kindle's root directory (root directory is the first place you go when you open your Kindle in a file browser.) Use the correct file depending on your Kindle version.

update_screensaverhack-install-K2.bin" for K2 U.S.
update_screensaverhack-install-K2i.bin" for K2 International
update_screensaverhack-install-dx.bin" for Kindle DX U.S.
Note - I have K2 US and i have to use the K2i file so try that one first.
Now go into your System folder, it may be hidden. Click here to find out to display hidden folders.
Create a folder here called screen_saver. Put your images here.
Now disconnect your USB and on your Kindle press the Home button to make sure you are on the Home Screen. Press Menu then choose Settings. Once you are in the Settings menu press Menu again and choose Update Your Kindle. This will take a minute or so and when you Kindle comes back you'll have your new images installed. You can test this by pressing the Standby button on the top of the Kindle.

Twilight

Well here it is before I start getting emails asking for them. Due to Twilight's popularity it is only fair to have some Twilight images on your Kindle. At this point I'm only a little over 20% finished with the first book. But so far it is definitly better than the movie. Here is my first Twilight image. There will be more coming soon, I am going to do one for each of the book covers tonight.

Harry Potter

Sadly Harry Potter books aren't on the Kindle yet, the author won't agree for digital copies, but that may change in the future. At any rate if you know where to find ebooks at you probably already have Harry Potter books in PDF. Here is an image from the Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone novel, sized to perfectly fit your Kindle 2.

Arthas

One of the main reasons I decided to buy a Kindle is that there are so many different novels based on the World of Warcraft. One in paticular that I am waiting to read is Arthas. I'll be reading Arthas after I finish Twilight. Now before you judge know that I'm only reading Twilight because the movie was so bad and I need to see it is so popular. I have taken the book cover and resized it to fit the Kindle. Hope you enjoy.

Love my Kindle

Just got my Kindle a few days ago. I loved it from the moment I opened the box. Downloading my first book was quick and easy and I was very impressed at how clear the text was. The one thing I didn't like about the kindle was screensaver images. Actually the screensaver images look great but they aren't for me. I wanted to have my Kindle display images that fit my personality. So I did some research and found out how to change the images and that is why I am creating this page, to share my custom made screen saver images for the Kindle 2. Most of the images are just book covers or movie posters resized to fit nicely on the Kindle 2. I'll also be taking requests.
